In addition to BTB’s 2 major productions, The Nutcracker and the BTB Gala, students participate in the Theater Basel’s annual Advent Calendar, productions of Ballett Basel as well as smaller productions. BTB also annually holds an Open House which gives the public the opportunity to experience our student’s daily class work.

BTB Anniversary Gala

Celebrating 21 years of excellence, the BTB Gala is a showcase of young dance talent.  Every year, the students demonstrate their skills on the main stage of Theater Basel. This special performance celebrates the broad spectrum of the BTB curriculum and offers the dancers the opportunity to gain stage experience. In addition to traditional classical ballets, there will also be pieces by well-known choreographers as well as new creations.

This year, BTB is pleased to celebrate and honor Julie and Richard Wherlock for their contribution to the field of dance in Basel, but especially for their contribution, passion, and tireless dedication to BTB.

Please join us on June 11 to honor Julie and Richard Wherlock and to celebrate the young talents of BTB.

Basel’s favorite Christmas classic! It is the charming story of Clara and her Nutcracker, who comes alive in her dream and transforms into a handsome Prince. He accompanies her on an adventurous journey during which they defend themselves against the King Rat and his army of mice, admire the swirling waltz of the Snowflakes and are finally led by the Sugarplum Fairy into her enchanted Kingdom. Accompany Clara and her Nutcracker Prince as they dance to the beautiful strains of Tchaikovsky’s magical score.
